SMTP (outgoing Mail)

ASTEQ Wi-Fi does not operate outgoing mail or SMTP servers.

If you can receive email but are having problems sending outgoing email via Outlook, you my need adjust your Internet Email Settings in Outlook to the following:

Try this

  1. Open Windows Mail.
  2. Click on Tools and then select Accounts...
  3. Click on your account to highlight it, then click the Properties button.
  4. Click the Servers tab.
  5. Under "Outgoing Mail Server" section, check the box next to "My server requires authentication", then click the Settings... button.
  6. In the "Outgoing Mail Server" window, select "Use same settings as my incoming mail server".
  7. Click Apply then OK.

Windows Mail will now send your email username and password (the authentication) to your ISP's SMTP server before it actually attempts to send your email.

You should not have any problems with web based email such as google or yahoo.
